I have done moomin fanart in my own style and in the anime-series style, and in this piece I tried to imitate Tove Janssons original drawing and coloring style.

Fillyjonka is very complicated yet fascinating character. In the original books, she's a tidy housewife who has loads of neuroses and fears. She's obsessed to keep her house and belongings clean and in good order. She's introvert, uncertain and timid person but wouldn't hurt a fly.

In the anime series and comic books she's still a tidy and neurotic housewife from the outside, but wicked, arrogant and malicious bitch from the inside. She keeps strict discipline for her children and disses pretty much everyone she mets, though she's externally polite and behaves friendly towards others. But it's all just pretence and I bet she wouldn't doubt to burn moominhouse to the ground if she had the chance.
There's loadsa examples of her awesome bitchiness but one of my favourite one is when snorkmaiden believes she's a princess and comes to fillyjonks house to offer soup for the poor. Fillyjonk then gets furious and knocks snorkmaiden in the head with her soup basket, laughing out loud after she's done with it : D. Though snorkmaiden kinda deserves it for being so annoying all the time.
